Come for the weather and stay for the entertainment. Or maybe it is the reverse. Los Angeles has world famous attractions, great sports venues, and more museums and theaters than any other city in the U.S.
Here are a few more reasons why LA is the perfect city to host the Gay Games:
We have the Facilities
When it comes to sports facilities, Los Angeles can count on numerous world-class venues, bringing a multitude of top level athletes to live and train in Southern California. Public transportation improvements make for easy access to many of the venues.
The city is a travelers’ playground. Countless activities to choose from include major theme parks, more than 100 museums and cheering on one of the 10 professional sports teams that play in the region. And there is no shortage of choice hotels and restaurants.
We have the Multicultural Community
Los Angeles is one of the most uniquely diverse cities in the world. Citizens hail from more than 140 countries, speaking nearly 225 languages. And it is home to the largest communities of several nationalities outside of their home countries. We can warmly welcome the international community because they are already here.
And with a more than 40 percent LGBT population, LA consistently ranks high among the most friendly cities towards the LGBT community, making it safe and respectful.
We have the Passion
This is a sports and entertainment lovers town. Los Angeles has hosted many of the world’s biggest sporting events including the Olympics, the World Cup, the Super Bowl and numerous basketball, hockey and baseball championships and all star games. The city most recently won the bid to host Super Bowl LV, and is currently bidding to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
