The City of Angels is home to one of the largest LGBT communities in the world. West Hollywood is the gay epicenter of Los Angeles and hosts an annual Gay Pride parade and the Halloween Costume Carnaval. Outside of West Hollywood, find a thriving LGBT scene in the hipster hideaway Silver Lake and the beaches of Santa Monica.

02 Perfect Weather

Southern California’s climate is a sun lover’s paradise. Angelenos enjoy 329 days of sunshine a year with on average only15 inches of rain. Average temperatures in Los Angeles in the summer are a high of 82 °F and 65 °F in winter. And there is no extreme cold or humidity.

03 One City, Multiple Communities

The entry point of hundreds of cultures and dozens of transplants from around the world, Los Angeles is an international melting pot. Citizens hail from more than 140 countries. LA county has the largest Hispanic, Asian, and Native American populations of any county in the United States, and you can hear more than 225 languages spoken by residents.

Los Angeles is the second largest population of 20 countries. Second only to that country’s largest city.

04 Sand, Surf, Ski

Where in the world can you go skiing in the morning and be on a sunny beach in the afternoon? Start in the San Gabriel or the San Bernardino Mountains to find snowy peaks and breathtaking views. Then drive along the 75-mile coastline, to choose from Southern California’s greatest beaches. By afternoon you can boast of snowboarding and surfing in the same day.

05 Stars In Our Eyes

Home to the Academy Awards and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Los Angeles has long been known as the entertainment capital of the world. The filmmaking industry pours tens of billions of dollars into the economy yearly and employs several hundred thousand people. Hollywood produces roughly half of all the films shot in the United States.

06 A Tourist’s Playground

LA has no shortage of things to do. Spend a day at one of the cities major theme parks like Disneyland or Universal Studios. Shop the iconic and chic boutiques along Rodeo Drive or the quaint stalls at the Farmer’s Market.  Other tourist treasures include the LACMA and the famous Hollywood sign.

We have great sports venues, exciting and diverse cultural activities and a great LGBT community. I know everyone will roll out the red carpet for the participants and their friends.

07 World-Class Sports Venues

With famous venues like the Staples Center at L.A. LIVE, home to the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers and the NHL’s L.A. Kings, and Dodger’s Stadium, sports fans flock to in L.A. The city is also home to several esteemed universities that have large sports followings such as USC and UCLA.

08 Foodie Paradise

The dish on the Los Angeles culinary scene is diversity. Everyone eats tacos in LA, but the foodie landscape goes beyond this Mexican favorite.  Restaurants feature cuisine that would tempt taste buds from around the globe. L.A is so diverse, its possible to dine around the world without ever leaving the city making for a dynamic dining experience.

09 Tech Titans

LA is the global capital of creativity – from aerospace to gaming to digital media and beyond. There’s an Innovation and Performance Commission providing private and public sector expertise in innovation, technology, and performance management. Innovation Week and the Innovation & Technology Council keep Los Angeles on the tech map.
